Benefit from Data Residency While Using Xactly Incent
Protect Your Data
The PerspecSys cloud data protection solution for Xactly Incent allows organizations to maintain local control of their sensitive data while using Xactly’s powerful cloud-based sales compensation and performance management applications. This is critical for companies that must comply with data residency and protection laws, such as the EU Data Protection Directive and industry-specific regulatory standards, such as ITAR, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.
With the PerspecSys Adapter for Xactly Incent, companies can use all of Incent’s features and functionality in the cloud while keeping their business sensitive data physically resident behind the corporate firewall.
How Does It Work?
The PRS Server is the foundation of PerspecSys’ cloud data protection solution, operating as a proxy server between the Xactly Incent end user and the Xactly cloud. The enterprise configures its data protection policies (cloud encryption and/or data tokenization) within the PRS Server. The PerspecSys Adapter for Xactly Incent interfaces with this server and, given its understanding of the application and data layer operation, plays the critical role of preserving the application’s end user functionality, such as the ability to “Search” and “Sort”.
A management console permits authorized users to maintain data residency, protection, security, and administrative policies (such as permissions and access control) for sensitive data so that it can be protected before it is stored or processed in Incent.
Optional components that are also available are the Mail Transfer Agent Server (used to enable e-mail functionality for Incent) and the Reverse Proxy Server, which provides flexibility in deployment options, such as the ability to deploy the solution in DMZs or in the facilities of an organization’s IaaS partners. The Reverse Proxy Server provides the additional benefit of providing secure access to the PRS Server for remote users (without requiring them to VPN into the PRS Server).

Key Capabilities for Xactly Incent Protection:
- Gives enterprises the ability, at the data field level, to encrypt, tokenize, or leave data in “the clear” when it is sent to the Xactly’s cloud application.
- Manages data residency by ensuring that data stays where you prescribe (e.g., on a network server, within a building or within a country).
- Identifies and restricts access to and use of sensitive data through black and whitelists, and optionally, through regional or group designations.
- Monitors data use for corporate and legal compliance requirements.
